Biola University Seeking Applicants for Assistant Professor of History

The History Department at Biola University invites applications for a position in history at the rank of Assistant Professor (with the possibility of a tenure-track appointment). The position is open to applicants with a PhD in history with a research interest in any field in the history of Christianity (with any accompanying geographical or chronological focus). The Biola History Department is interested in candidates who can teach introductory surveys in either American or world history. Female candidates are especially encouraged to apply.   

Teaching responsibilities will include four courses per semester. The candidate will be expected to teach a combination of broad survey courses to support the history department’s world history or American history concentrations and upper-division courses in their field of specialization.  The ideal candidate will be committed to teaching and mentoring students in a dynamic Christian context. They will also demonstrate a meaningful commitment to integrating their Christian faith with their teaching and scholarly endeavors. The History Department serves Biola University’s distinctive Christian engagement with the liberal arts tradition and commitment to excellence in the areas of teaching and mentoring as well as scholarship.
